** Important notice: We have moved to Central Saanich **

If you are a returning patient from my View Royal location and have an appointment booked, I will be in touch with you with directions to the new place and parking info.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
▪ Please cancel if you’re experiencing coughing, sneezing, fever, chills, or have a runny, or stuffed nose.
▪ Please put yourself on the waitlist if you cannot find availability that works for your schedule. Saturday appointments are reserved for RETURNING PATIENTS only.
Please do not arrive early. If you do arrive early please wait in your car and come knock on the front door no more than 5 minutes ahead of your appointment time. This is a home-based practice with no waiting area so when you knock on the door earlier than your scheduled time you may be interrupting another appointment, or a lunch break.
Parking: Park in the driveway at the front of the house closest to the front door.
▪︎ I’m not accepting new patients with open ICBC or WCB claims.
Cancellations & no-shows: You may cancel at no charge up to 24 hours before your appointment If you cancel, or no-show within 24 hours, a fee for the full cost of the missed appointment may apply & will be charged to the credit card in your file. I often have a waitlist and if I have enough time I can often replace your appointment, and if I can do that then there will be no charge.
A registered massage therapist (RMT) in British Columbia is a health professional regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC) under BC’s Health Professions Act. All registrants with CMTBC have completed post-secondary education in clinical applications of health sciences in massage therapy settings, and must meet CMTBC’s rigorous entry-level requirements.
RMTs are subject to:
•CMTBC’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
•The requirements of the Health Professions Act and regulations made under the Act.
•Standards of professional conduct.
•CMTBC’s quality assurance program, which ensures ongoing professional currency and development.
Prior to each appointment, your RMT has thoroughly reviewed your health history form, and will conduct a brief interview with you to establish what your goals are for your treatment today. Based on information gathered here, they may engage you in some quick orthopedic assessments as well. The RMT will then go about describing the areas of the body to be treated, and why, and ask you for your consent to do that. If it is your first ever visit with Lisa Simpson RMT, she will have a specific conversation with you about what consent is, and will empower you to communicate with her through your treatments if you are uncomfortable, or if the pressure is to much or too little. Your consent will be communicated and navigated in every treatment. She'll then instruct you how to get on the table, and leave the room to wash her hands. You are free to any level of disrobing that you are comfortable with, if you have ANY conserns about this, please feel comfortable enough to communicate that with your RMT. Your RMT will verbally confirm confirm that youre setteled on the table before entering the treatment room to begin the treatment.
*Covid-19 changes to practice:
•Because physical distancing is not possible in massage therapy BOTH patient and RMT will be required to wear a mask for the duration of their treatment.
•Prior to EVERY appointment, you MUST complete the Covid-19 pre-screen, and be cleared
• If you are ill the day of your appointment, please contact us as soon as you are able, and we will waive the cancelation fee. There is a zero tolerance policy for anyone coming to the clinic with a new and obvious hoarse voice, fever, runny nose or nasal congestion, chest congestion or cough. Your treatment will be cancelled for that day, and you'll be sent home.
• Appointments are spaced 25 minutes apart to allow for thorough sanitization of touched surfaces, please show up no more than 5 minutes early
•This is a home based practice, and there is no waiting room or reception area, so please come to your appointment alone.
•All payments are paperless and contactless. The only accepted payments is etransfer, and receipts will be emailed.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate unprecedented times. If you have any specific questions about the Covid-19 policies or cleaning proceedures, please email massagetherapistlisa@gmail.com.
I am a graduate of The West Coast College of Massage Therapy program in Victoria and am a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Registered Massage Therapists of British Columbia since 2016.
My approach to massage therapy involves empowering my patients to trust and respect the healing process, and to work with your body, rather against it. I have a real passion for educating my patients, and helping them find ideal rehabilitation practices to facilitate their active involvement in achieving their goals.
In connection to my commitment to maintaining an evidence based, and patient centered practice, a customized treatment plan is developed for each client through a mindful examination of your health history & interview, followed by an assessment to understand the needs of each individual. My treatment tools are a diverse integration of Swedish Massage, sports massage, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, muscle energy techniques, dermoneuromodulation (DNM), and relaxation massage to appropriately address your needs and treatment goals.
Particular interest include sports injury rehab, repetitive strain injury, pre and post natal support, respiratory disorders, stress management, muscular dysfunction & imbalance, palliative care, post mastectomy care, and post-operative scar tissue care. I strive to offer a safe and inclusive practice,and it’s my honour to support Trans and Gender-diverse patients during their transition process.
Outside of the treatment room, I’m an ardent cyclist, a clinic instructor for the Massage Therapy program at Camosun College, a gypsy traveler, an aspiring plant-lady, and obsessive helicopter-mom to my spoiled Labradors, Walter and Gunner.
